Bio:

Don Ganguly is the founder and chief executive officer of HomeUnion, an online real estate investment management firm specializing in single-family rental (SFR) investment properties for the individual investor.

Don is an entrepreneur and expert in the acquisition and management of residential real estate. He was the founder and chief executive officer of what is now Oracle Financial Services BPO (originally Equinox), a subsidiary of Oracle, that provides loan processing, servicing and back-office financial reporting services for banks and large private equity investors.

In addition to serving as an advisor to Acqura Loan Services, a special servicer of distressed residential loans, now owned by Apollo Funds, Don was also co-founder of NexGenix, a leading IT services (eCRM focus) firm. NexGenix was recognized twice as an Inc. 500 company, and was acquired by TCG, a private equity firm.

Don has a degree in Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, and an MBA from the Wharton School, where he has been a mentor. He is a charter member of TiE- a leading entrepreneurial organization. Don has been recognized for his leadership in the real estate sector; he was a recipient of the 2015 HousingWire Vanguard Award, which recognizes executives leading the housing economy.

Chief Financial Officer

Bio:

Chiranjib Pal (CP) has over 20 years of experience in various aspects of finance, operations and technology. Prior to HomeUnion, he was the vice president of client services at Oracle Financial Services BPO responsible for business development, client relationship and onshore operations. He has successfully implemented and managed large-scale mortgage origination and servicing operations. At NexGenix Inc, a leading IT services firm, he was responsible for managing complex IT projects for Banks and FIs, particularly in the mortgage and real estate space. CP also has deep experience in corporate finance, planning, underwriting and fundraising. He has a degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Jadavpur University, India and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.

Chief Compliance and Risk Officer

Bio:

Geri Brewster has over 30 years of leadership experience in legal, corporate, and private equity environments. Geri spent 20 years at Toyota Financial Services in many senior management positions including general counsel and group vice president of banking. Prior to joining HomeUnion she was the COO at Fleetgistics, a private equity funded company in the transportation logistics space. Geri has a BA in Political Science from West Virginia University and a JD from WVU College of Law.

Bio:

Kris is an Information Technology professional with over twenty years of experience leading product development and projects in the Mortgage/Financial, Healthcare, and Entertainment industries. He has experience in managing product engineering, IT Consulting, Offshore Project Execution and Facilities Setup, Presales, and Account Management. Prior to joining HomeUnion, Kris was the director of technical engineering support at EDIFECS a leading HealthCare Product. Prior to Edifecs, he was vice president of development at AHMSI/Option One responsible for building a major Servicing Platform. Kris received his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from Loyola College in Chennai, and completed his Masters in Computer Science from NIT, Trichy, India.

Bio:

Ramin is the VP of Product Management at HomeUnion. He is an experienced product leader with over 20 years of global experience in building consumer-facing products (Web & App), delivering SaaS platform services, and launching B2B tools and advertising solutions to enable monetization. Ramin has held leadership positions at Fortune 500 companies such as Yahoo, Nokia and HP. Ramin has a Doctoral degree in Technology from Tampere University of Technology and a Doctoral degree in Management from Helsinki University of Technology.

Bio:

Scott is a senior marketing professional with over 20 years of experience in all aspects of marketing, including demand generation, marketing communications, PR, and product marketing. Prior to joining HomeUnion as the senior director of marketing, Scott was the acting general manager at CityFeet.com. He also played a significant role in the success of LoopNet, the most-trafficked commercial real estate website as the senior director of online marketing and senior director of business development. Scott received his Bachelors of Science in Marketing at Sonoma State University.

Bio:

Jaime Sipila is the senior director of product management of HomeUnion. He brings over 16 years of experience in software product management. Prior to HomeUnion, Jaime served as the director of product management at Rent.com, where he led the renter experience team. Prior to Rent.com, Jaime served as vice president of product management at Interneer.com, a web-based business process management firm he co-founded. Jaime holds a B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, an MS in Electrical Engineering and Engineer Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA, and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Ravi is the co-founder of HomeUnion. He has over 25 years of C-level experience with a deep understanding of the Mortgage/Real Estate market. He was previously President of UniSeva, a technology strategy consulting company. He was EVP and part of the founding team at NexGenix, a leading e-CRM services company. Prior to this Ravi was CEO of Hexaware Technologies, a leading IT Services company. He has also held senior management positions at Unisys/Tata. He was recently awarded “Emerging Small Business Award” by Asian Business Association of Orange County (ABAOC). Ravi is a charter member of TIE, a leading entrepreneurial organization, and mentors The Young Entrepreneurs(TYE). Ravi has a Masters degree in Technology from IIT, Kanpur and an undergraduate in Electronics engineering from Andhra University.

Nani Narayanan Srinivasan

Bio:

Nani has over 25 years of experience as a Technology Executive in Banking, Real Estate/Mortgage, High Technology, and Telecommunications.  Nani has designed and architected several key products in these industries and guided teams implementing over 200+ industrial strength websites.  Nani’s career span includes architecture and technology director roles at Unisys, IT executive position at State Bank of NSW (now Commonwealth Bank Australia), Product Director at Objectif Australia, E-business Director at NexGenix, and CTO at UniSeva. Nani has been championing SaaS, On-demand Cloud Computing, Social Networking, and Relationship Management. He has led several client transformations into the new space.  Nani received a Masters degree in Computer Science from IIT, Chennai and Bachelors degree from IISc, Bangalore.  Nani was the Chair of IEEE Orange County, and continues take special interest at IEEE-Computer Society and ACM.

Akhil Saklecha
Member, Board of Directors

Bio:

Akhil Saklecha focuses on early-stage investments with an interest towards medical technology. As a Partner at Artiman, he has led investments in CellMax Life, DMS Networks and HomeUnion.

Akhil has over 15 years of experience in medicine and healthcare management. Prior to joining Artiman in 2010, Akhil was Medical Director of a 750 bed hospital’s regional transfer program. Prior to that position, he was President and CEO of Canton Aultman Emergency Physicians, a professional services firm that provides physicians, mid-level providers, and coding expertise to multiple hospitals and urgent care centers. He was also Chairman of Emergency Medicine at Aultman Hospital, a large trauma, cardiac, and stroke center seeing nearly 90,000 patients annually. In this same time period, Akhil has served at the local, state, and national levels within emergency medicine, healthcare quality, information technology, managed care, and emergency medical services.

He is an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and continues to practice on a part time basis at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose where he remains connected to clinical medicine, patients, and physicians.

Akhil graduated from the combined B.S./M.D. program at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Summa Health System. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Amit Shah focuses on early-stage investments, creating globally renowned businesses, where technology innovation and markets intersect. He targets large markets across all business sectors including materials related technologies (Adama Materials); construction (Aditazz); dynamic, large-scale analytics (Guavus); and consumer motion processing (NYSE:INVN) amongst others.

Prior to founding Artiman Ventures, Amit was a successful repeat entrepreneur. Both companies he founded were acquired: Zeitnet (acq. Cabletron) and PipeLinks (acq. Cisco). He was also General Partner of Anthelion Capital, a seed stage venture firm based in Menlo Park, CA.

Amit holds a B.S.EE from M.S. University Baroda and did graduate work at UC Irvine.

Over his career he has led investments in many companies such as Everest Design Automation (acq. Synopsys), IKANOS (Nasdaq: IKAN), iManage (Nasdaq: IMAN), Lightwire (acq. Cisco Systems), Netscaler (acq. Citrix), Sierra Design Automation (acq. Mentor Graphics), Tavant (acq. Ameriquest).

He is currently on the boards of Adama Materials, Aditazz, Auryn, CellMax Life, Guavus and InvenSense.

Bio:

John has 20 years of experience as CEO of five financial services companies. Most recently, from 1993 to 2001, he served as the CEO of Silicon Valley Bank, a leading provider of financial services to early-stage technology companies and venture capital firms. John grew Silicon Valley Bank’s market capitalization from $65 million in 1993 to over $3 billion in 2000. Also, he led the creation of the company’s own venture investment business, with the launch of the company’s first two venture capital funds in 2000. This included a $150 million fund of funds, and a $65 million direct equity fund. In 2001, Forbes ranked him as one of the “50 most powerful dealmakers.” In 2001, Fortune ranked Silicon Valley Bank, under John’s leadership, among the “100 Fastest-Growing Companies” based on growth in revenues, earnings per share, and total market return over three years.

John also has many years of experience investing in technology companies. He has served as Managing Director of Tuputele Ventures Fund, LLC, a small private equity fund investing in early-stage technology companies and venture capital funds. He is an investment director for various venture capital firms, both in the U.S. and overseas, including Advanced Technology Venture (ATV), Institutional Venture Fund (IVP), Walden International, and Authosis Capital. John serves as an advisor or director of various technology companies. He brings a wide network of industry contacts to the Fund, notably in Silicon Valley and Hawaii.

In March 2010, John joined the Board of Directors of Central Pacific Financial Corporation and Central Pacific Bank as Executive Chairman. The company is under an FDIC Consent Order to meet certain capital ratio requirements and John has joined as Chair to assist this organization in its turnaround.

Raj managed CloudVolumes as Chairman, CEO and President, CloudVolumes to help businesses dynamically solve their complex management, scale and performance problems with Cloud and datacenters by “Virtualize above the OS”. Raj also co-founded Virident Systems, “storage class memory” with highest performance Flash Company in 2006 and managed as CEO/Chairman, co-founded and managing Redwood Venture Partners since 1998, a venture capital firm located in Silicon Valley and Comstaller ($150M hi-tech incubator) in 2000. Redwood and its affiliated partnerships have raised funds representing over $250 million in invested capital in over 30 high tech companies. Raj has served as Board Member or as Chairman of the Board of over 15 high tech companies, including Magma (Aqcquired by Synopsis), Niksun, Pranalytica, eGtran, TiE Angels, GlassBeam, PubNub and Aspex.

Raj was member of the senior business and technology executive teams of several high technology companies known for his leadership, vision and art of transforming technology into high value business. He served at Sun Microsystems (now Oracle) as CTO and Executive Vice President of Engineering of all system products, and as VP and General Manager of Java Products for Sun Microsystems Microelectronics. Before joining Sun, Raj was Vice President and General Manager with Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) managed all chip development including “Geometry Engine” and several system products. Advisor to several companies including SAP America and VMware.

Raj not only have designed or managed semiconductor products in almost any technology, managed software ranging from real time embedded, distributed multi-computing environment, virtualization to cloud computing and a wide variety of server/storage/desktop systems but also managed sales, marketing, OEM channels and started new divisions within large companies. He holds 25+ issued U. S. patents, and many awards for his vision and leadership. He received his Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Gujarat University, India, and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (CS and Device Physics) from Polytechnic Institute of New York now New York University.

Raj’s passion is to solve complex problems by providing paradigm shifting products such as availability of applications in VMs without installation (CloudVolumes/VMW), use of flash as high density memory (Virident/WD), 3D/movie making computer (SGI), network storage (SUN) and now solving trust issue in the cloud and cloaking resources to enhance cyber security.
