Daikin Industries is Heating up the Houston Employment Market

houston with truckDaikin, an industry leader of heating, cooling, and refrigerant products based out of Japan, is creating more jobs than expected at their new Houston campus. In fact, this campus cost about $417 million dollars and is expected to employ over 5,000 workers (Source: Houston Business Journal). Built on a 90-acre parcel, this campus will feature 1.7 million square feet of manufacturing space, 400,000 square feet of lab and office space and a 1.8 million square foot distribution center.

Daikin isn’t the only employer providing demand for skilled workers in the Houston area. Numerous Fortune 500 companies are located in the Houston area such as Sysco, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Kinder Morgan, Waste Management, and Men’s Warehouse.
