Why Dallas/Ft. Worth Is "The Silicon Prairie"

Dallas/Ft. Worth: Leading The Silicon Prairie

Dallas SignThe Silicon Prairie may be several thousand miles from the Silicon Valley, but tech companies are seeing the Dallas/Ft. Worth area as an opportune place to put down roots.

Facebook in particular has broken ground on an impressive multi-building structure that will be on a 150-acre plot. This new data facility has development plans that will extend for the next ten years.

The Dallas/Fort Worth region is home to many tech companies such as Texas Instruments, AT&T, Nortel, Raytheon, and Electronic Data Systems.  This region is poised for growth and Coldwell Banker’s Commercial division ranked these two Texas cities within their top five cities for commercial development.

As Facebook and other companies come to the region this creates new jobs, which in turn can boost local real estate prices as well as drive the demand for more rental homes.  To learn more about the local economic conditions shaping the Dallas/Ft. Worth economy, download this market report.
