IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 27, 2017 — HomeUnion, an online real estate investment management firm, has released a list of the best Bay Area zip codes for families with school-aged children. Topping the list is zip code 94551 in Livermore with a median home price of $609,000, followed by neighborhoods in Fairfax and Walnut Creek. HomeUnion created the ranking by combining the lowest median home prices in the six-county region with public schools in the 80th percentile or higher, as rated by Maponics.

“With a median home sales price approaching $740,000 in the Bay Area, the cities on our list are excellent bargains for families who have children in public schools,” explains Steve Hovland, director of research for HomeUnion. “For home buyers in search of well-located California real estate in highly rated school districts, the East Bay offers the best options. In fact, the region dominates our list with seven out of the 10 best zip codes.”
