HomeUnion® Names the Best Neighborhoods for Trick-or-Treating

The top three submarkets are located in Denver, Washington, D.C. and Tampa-St. Petersburg.
IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 25, 2016 – HomeUnion®, a leading online real estate investment and management firm, has released a list of the top 20 neighborhoods for trick-or-treating this Halloween season. The company analyzed the largest metros in the United States based on median home prices, neighborhood density, the safety of the area, and the proximity to the nearest cemetery to create the comprehensive list.

“There are plenty of websites that select the top metros for trick-or-treating, which is a great place for families to start,” says Steve Hovland, director of research for HomeUnion®. “But cities and metros are diverse, with many distinct and varied neighborhoods. Some parts of metros have safety issues, or have homes that are too far apart for children to trick-or-treat, so we’ve eliminated those areas to compile a true, neighborhood-level list. To add an element of spookiness to our list, we even factored in how close the nearest cemetery is to each neighborhood. Since HomeUnion® utilizes a ton of data to help investors find their ideal investment properties, we wanted to use this same micro-level data to help kids and their families find a ton of candy!”
