Identifying The Perfect Tenant

It can be hard to identify perfect tenants when you only meet with them for a short period of time. Thankfully, by gathering the right information, you can start to get a clearer picture of who people are, as well as how financially responsible they may – or may not – be.

Here are a few things to keep in mind as you are vetting applicants.

Find someone who:

  • Responds to questions well
  • Is punctual with appointments
  • Has good credit, passes a background check and has no evictions
  • Can provide you with references

Go With Your Gut Feeling

If you sense that something is off, or for some reason you just have bad energy, your gut could be telling you something. Your intuition is powerful when it comes to feeling out individuals so if something inside is telling you that something isn’t right, do yourself a favor and listen. You don’t want to figure it out when it is too late.

Wrapping It Up

If an applicant has positive references, good credit, and pay stubs to verify income, there’s a good chance that this person will be a great tenant.

But that doesn’t guarantee it.
